Despite the fact that the unhealthy side effects of smoking has been well known for decades, 32% of Hungarian population regularly smokes. For the occasion of World No Tobacco Day our Low Dose CT (LDCT) for lung screening is at a discounted price for 25.800Ft instead of 32.000Ft.
The details and conditions of the promotion:
Nearly a third of lung tumors are detected in non-smoking patients. And the risk is even higher in smokers. It is therefore recommended for both current smokers and those who have quit smoking in the last 15 years.
that 6 million people in the world are victims of smoking every year, of which 1 million are passive smokers?
Regular LDCT testing is particularly recommended for people who smoke, as it is a proven fact that around 15% of smokers are diagnosed with lung cancer.
The sooner they recognize the cancer the better is for later recovery. For early diagnosed lung cancer that is operable, full recovery may be possible. But when lung cancer is already symptomatic, only less than 10% of cases are curable.
Careful monitoring of abnormalities will also ensure that any lung cancer that develops can be detected at the earliest possible stage. Patients can also be referred more frequently for follow-up tests.
The low-dose LDCT scan is non-invasive and takes a relatively short time.
Low-dose LDCT requires little preparation. There is no need to skip medications, no need for starvation, and no need for contrast agents and therefore no needle pricks.
The scan is done by placing the hands behind the head in a lying position on a moving table, wearing comfortable clothing. Outerwear without metals, sequins, clasps, zips or stiffeners is recommended. The device is a doughnut-shaped tube so it does not cause a feeling of confinement.
We provide free online images of the examination and a written assessment within 2-3 working days. In case of a positive result or in connection with the evaluation, a specialist pulmonological examination is recommended and can be carried out at our institution.
