Professional experience:
Since 2002 I have been working at the MRE Bethesda Children’s Hospital, where I have been leading the Burns Centre since 2006 as Chief Physician. I have been performing aesthetic and reconstructive surgery continuously for 30 years since my specialisation.
What attracts you to this career?
For thirty years I have been working continuously: either treating burns, performing aesthetic surgery or dressing for reconstructive surgery and heading to the operating theatre. But despite the thousands of operations, each case is different, each one an interesting challenge with a special beauty.
As a woman, my approach to aesthetic surgery is different from that of my male colleagues, because for us women, the result of aesthetic surgery is all about harmony, beauty, invisible renewal, so many little subtleties that are really important to a woman, things that are perhaps imperceptible to the male eye.
I have been elected to the ranks of several professional societies at home and abroad, and in 2011 I was elected President of the Plastic and Burns Section of the College of Health Professionals.
I have been elected President of the National College of Plastic and Burning Specialists, a great honour and I am striving to live up to this prestigious professional recognition.
