Infectology

Infectology is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious and contagious diseases caused by pathogens, bacteria, viruses, fungi, worms. It is advisable to consult an infectologist if you have had a fever of unknown origin for a long time (weeks) and the exact cause has not been determined by the tests carried out so far, or if the background of the illness has not been identified. Other cases: after surgical treatment of any injury, to assess the risk of tetanus and/or for vaccination in case of suspected parasitic infections (e.g. prolonged diarrhoea, intestinal worms, etc.) in case of suspected infections (e.g. urinary tract infections, upper respiratory tract infections, etc.) in case of frequent travel abroad to tropical countries for vaccination of occupationally exposed persons in case of chronic liver disease for the implementation of an adult immunisation plan (e.g. for the evaluation and interpretation of previous serological results for the determination of antibiotic treatment for the appearance of lymph node swelling in the presence of rashes in the presence of repeated vaccinations for the possibility of outpatient treatment. Vaccinations play an important role in the prevention of infectious and communicable diseases, which are available in our clinic and can be administered on site.
