Oncology is a branch of medicine concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant cancers. These diseases can affect any organ in the body. In general, the earlier the disease is detected, the better the chance of curing it. At our institute, we provide the opportunity to make an accurate diagnosis of newly discovered lesions through histological sampling, ensure prompt professional consultation, recommend any further investigation and suggest a treatment plan.
Since time is of the essence in cancer, a dedicated oncology case manager ensures that our patients have access to the necessary consultations and tests as soon as possible. The role of the case manager is to help to implement the investigation and treatment plan at the WMC together with our patients in the shortest possible time and in a personalised way, so that our patients can get answers to their questions as soon as possible and decide on the next steps together with our oncologist. The dedicated case manager will organise the necessary tests, interventions and controls according to a treatment plan that can be implemented within the institute.
