About me
I decided to become a doctor at an early age. My career choice was driven by a strong desire to play an active and direct role in patient care, which led me to pursue general surgery. I chose this specialty because, in many conditions, surgery offers the possibility of providing a definitive solution to the underlying problem.
My primary area of interest is minimally invasive surgery. Throughout my professional development, I have placed particular emphasis on mastering laparoscopic (camera-guided abdominal) surgical techniques, further developing my expertise through advanced training courses. The experience I have gained in this field has also contributed significantly to achieving a high level of proficiency in thoracoscopic (camera-guided chest) procedures.
In my medical practice, I consider an honest and trusting doctor–patient relationship to be of fundamental importance, along with ensuring that every decision is made in the patient’s best interests. I firmly believe that a good surgeon must be able to recognise not only when surgery is necessary, but also when conservative treatment may be the better option. Accordingly, my work is guided by the principle of primum non nocere — “first, do no harm.”
In my view, one of the greatest professional challenges in surgery is not the operation itself, but the decision that precedes it: carefully and responsibly assessing whether surgical intervention truly represents the best option for each individual patient. Restraint and professional humility are just as important as surgical skill and technical expertise.
