Big lab package

Regular blood tests are one of the best ways to monitor your overall physical well-being. The Grand Lab Package gives you a general picture of how your body is currently functioning, so you can make informed decisions about your health.

What can a lab test tell you?

Laboratory tests are often used to diagnose or screen for certain diseases or conditions. Some tests are used to monitor disease to see if treatment is effective. Laboratory tests may also be done to provide general information about the patient’s organs and organ systems.

These include

  • microbiological tests,
  • clinical chemistry, haematology, immunology,
  • genoid molecular microbiological tests, and
  • genetic tests.

What is included in the lab package?

The Grand Laboratory Package, also known as the Grand Routine Test, includes general laboratory screening tests, which are recommended once a year.

Complete blood count

A complete blood count is the most commonly performed blood test. It measures the types and numbers of cells in the blood, including red and white blood cells and platelets. This test is used to determine general health, screen for abnormalities and check nutrient levels. It can help to assess symptoms such as weakness and fatigue and to diagnose certain diseases such as anaemia and leukaemia.

Complete urine

A urine test is a general screening test used to detect early signs of disease. It can also be used to check for diabetes or kidney disease.

Metabolic panels

These tests measure levels of, for example, glucose, sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, carbon dioxide, blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, which can help determine blood glucose, electrolyte and fluid balance and kidney function. The tests also provide a general picture of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.

Liver Panel

The liver panel is a combination of tests to assess liver function and to detect the possible presence of liver tumours.

Thyroid panel

This test examines and monitors thyroid function.

Large laboratory values

Each laboratory has its own reference range for each type of test, which can be used to evaluate where a particular result falls within the range. Often, the laboratory report will contain some marker that indicates that a result is outside the normal range and may therefore be abnormal. You will need the help of a specialist to analyse the values. Your doctor will let you know if you need any other tests or treatments to ensure optimal health.

What does the big lab show?

A CBC test is highly recommended in cases of general malaise or post covid symptoms, so that the patient and his or her doctor can get an idea of exactly what is causing the symptoms.

If you need a CBC package or other laboratory tests and would like to avoid long queues and crowds, book your appointment conveniently online on the Wáberer Medical Center website. With us, after a short registration process, you will be accompanied by a colleague to the lab, where our specialists will perform the blood test quickly and painlessly, so you can get on with your daily routine as soon as possible without unnecessary stress.
