About me
My professional interests focus on the state-of-the-art diagnosis and personalized treatment of prostate cancer. In my practice, I primarily treat patients for whom prostate cancer is a possibility due to elevated PSA levels, abnormalities detected on prostate MRI scans, or other test results, as well as those with confirmed prostate cancer who require evaluation of further treatment options.
My primary area of expertise is targeted prostate biopsy, specifically MR-ultrasound fusion biopsy and the use of high-resolution micro-ultrasound (micro-US). These state-of-the-art imaging and sampling techniques allow us to identify suspicious areas within the prostate more accurately and perform targeted tissue sampling.
In the diagnostic process, I believe it is important not to base a decision on a single test result. I strive to conduct a comprehensive evaluation that takes into account PSA levels, prostate MRI findings, abnormalities observed in other imaging studies, results from previous biopsies and histology, as well as the patient’s individual risk factors. My goal is not simply to detect prostate cancer, but also to determine which cases require treatment and in which cases close monitoring is safe.
Another important area of my clinical interest is the focal treatment of localized prostate cancer, particularly HIFU therapy. In appropriately selected cases, focal therapy may offer the possibility of treating the cancerous area of the prostate.
