The word lipidology comes from the Greek word lipid, meaning fat. Lipidology is concerned with abnormalities in the levels of fats (cholesterol, protective cholesterol, harmful cholesterol and triglycerides) circulating in the blood and their treatment. It is also responsible for total vascular protection.
